Drew O’Connor will be joining the Unison Housing Partners (Unison) team as Deputy Director, and Dana Miller as Director of Finance effective April 23rd, 2018. Peter LiFari, Executive Director, said “I’m excited to welcome Dana and Drew to the Unison team, both bring a passion and commitment to our mission of ending generational poverty in Adams County. While their previous work histories have equipped them with the tools and expertise to drive our strategic initiatives to fruition it’s their dedication to servant leadership that has me the most excited to work alongside them in support of our team members. It is here within our shared vision for making Unison a force for good both inside and outside of our organization that will empower our collective success.”
Mostly recently, Drew has served as the Poverty Reduction Administrator with Adams County Government, working to develop community and system level strategies to reduce poverty across Adams County. As Deputy Director at Unison, Drew will work hand in hand with Peter LiFari providing a focus on community engagement and intergenerational poverty reduction to Unison’s property operations, housing development, management and program strategies.
Over his 25 year career in community development, Drew brings expertise in the areas of community engagement and power-building, nonprofit executive leadership, program development, healthy food access, affordable housing advocacy and economic development. The common thread through Drew’s work – from Peace Corps in Paraguay, community health in Louisiana, to poverty reduction in Adams County – is his deep commitment to the power of community-led change. Drew has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health and a BA in Political Science from Rutgers University.
Dana Miller, CPA, will be joining the team as Director of Finance. Most recently, Dana served as Budget Director for Adams 12 Five Star Schools where she garnered an appreciation for the complexity of the State of Colorado’s funding model while managing 13 separate funds and over 100 individual reporting units for the District. As Director of Finance at Unison, Dana will manage all of Unison’s core financial functions. Dana will work with the leadership team to assure implementation of program-wide strategic initiatives and policies.
During her more than 20 years of experience in managing and working with growing service companies – in both the for-profit and not-for-profit arenas – Dana’s work has equipped organizations with the tangible skills and mindset shifts needed to expand the reach and positive impact of their purposeful missions. Dana is heavily involved in community and professional organizations, she is currently a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Government Finance Officer Association and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado Society of CPAs.
