Creating Inclusive Communities: Tax Credits Secured for Uplands Project

At Maiker Housing Partners, we’re dedicated to creating vibrant, inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce a major milestone for the Uplands project in Westminster: the approval of tax credits to support the development of 70 affordable housing units.

This project is about more than just housing — it’s about building a community that reflects the values of inclusivity and accessibility. Among the 70 units, 10 are specifically designed to support adults with developmental disabilities (I/DD). These homes will follow the groundbreaking Kelsey Inclusive Design Standards, which ensure spaces are welcoming, adaptable, and accessible for individuals with a wide range of abilities. Uplands sets a new benchmark for inclusive housing in Colorado, paving the way for future developments.

In addition to providing much-needed affordable housing, the Uplands project will feature amenities that foster connection and well-being, including a community clubhouse, public parks and support programs. These features are designed to create opportunities for members to connect with neighbors, access resources, and build meaningful lives within the community.

This milestone wouldn’t be possible without the support of our partners, stakeholders and dedicated staff who work tirelessly to turn these visions into reality. The Uplands project exemplifies our commitment to addressing housing challenges while centering the needs and voices of our community members.
