Unison celebrated its commitment to families, including employees’ families, and support of teachers with its first annual Bring Your Kids to Work Day at our main offices. This day corresponded with educators marching at the state capital for increased education funding. Unison’s event included food, games, a movie, and much more – not unlike a regular day of work at Unison.
Peter provided some closing remarks at the end of the day and learned that the 12 children in attendance want to be the following when they grow up:
- Horse rider
- Policeman
- Scientist
- Actor
- Marine biologist
- Houser*
- Engineer
- Astronaut
- Veterinarian
- Doctor
- Nuclear engineer
- Hairdresser
I’m a little suspicious that the child who said “houser” was overly influenced by a parent since that is housing jargon for one of us, those who provide housing.
Everyone in the office enjoyed meeting our colleagues’ children and are happy to report that if these children are any indication the future is very bright indeed!
