To promote Unison’s support of safe, happy, and healthy families, we collaborated with the Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County to have a fun family event at Village of Greenbriar for Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.
More than 50 families attended to enjoy food and games, facepainting, and resources for parents. Drew O’Connor, Unison Deputy Director, and Lisa Jansen Thompson, ECPAC Executive Director shared information on Unison’s programs for families and community resources available to families of young children.
The Kids Count Data Center reports that in 2016, the most recent data, the child abuse rate in Adams County was 10.3 per 1,000 children compared to 8.4 per 1,000 children for Colorado as a whole. We can, and must, do better to support Adams County families.
