Over the past year, we’ve seen the Maiker mission in action through community-informed development and renovation of several of our affordable housing communities.
In September, we recently celebrated the grand reopening of Casa Redonda de Vigil, a senior community in Unincorporated Adams County. In early 2022, we started renovations on all 42 units and the clubhouse. Each unit received new kitchen cabinets, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, tile backsplashes, glass shower doors, new paint, new flooring and new fixtures. The clubhouse received an ADA lift, upgraded kitchen, bathrooms, laundry facility and leasing office.
In addition to the Casa Redonda renovations, we officially opened the doors to Crossing Pointe South to Thornton residents in September 2023. The grand opening of Crossing Pointe South alongside its partner community Crossing Pointe North that was developed in 2019, marks the completion of our vision for a transit-oriented, affordable multigenerational community in Adams County. The 142-unit community will serve Thornton residents earning between 30 – 70% of the Area Median Income. Crossing Pointe South’s amenities include a fitness and business center, community gardens, kid-friendly play equipment and splash gardens.
Here at Maiker, we’re passionate about ensuring our members have the resources they need and are empowered to make positive contributions to their communities. As a member-centered organization, these renovations and developments are a demonstration of the Maiker mission in action.
